32 Week Check Up

I am 32 weeks as of yesterday!! Went for my normal bi-weekly OB appointment yesterday morning at 9:30am, didn't make it home until 2pm. Long story short, my blood pressure was high when I got there, and when doctor checked me she noticed I was 1 cm dilated. They did some kind of test to find out if I'm at risk of pre term labor (going into labor in the next 2 weeks) then sent me over to L&D to get monitored and wait for test results.

Once I got to L&D and got hooked up to all the monitors (baby's heart rate, my heart rate, baby's movement, contractions... I was just a big mess of cords) my blood pressure went back down to normal. I had Kenna with me during all of this and she was climbing all over the bed, getting tangled in the cords, demanding I put Dora the explorer on for her "this instant!" No wonder my blood pressure was high....

Joe came from work to get her and took her to get some lunch and then they went home. My test results came back good and clear. I'm not at risk for pre term labor, no more protein in my urine, no contractions, and my blood pressure was normal so they sent me home! I haven't had any more contractions since last Friday night (hoping it'll stay this way for a while!).

G is home sick from school today, poor kid was up all night long with a horrible cough. His eyes were practically swollen shut this morning. I'm pretty sure its allergies (no fever or complaints of ear aches) so I'm giving him an antibiotic and trying to get him well before his lego themed birthday party this weekend!!!!

First trip to L&D

I made my first trip to labor and delivery last night (I never even did that with my previous 2 pregnancies!). Only to find out that the horribly uncomfortable/ sometimes painful contractions I've been having off and on for the last week are just another part of this pregnancy. After holding out from going to the hospital all week long (because could you imagine dragging a 2 and 5 year old out of bed on a school night and spending 2+ hours at the hospital?) I finally decided to go last night. I wasn't in horrible pain but I was extremely uncomfortable and wanted to know what was going on with my baby.

We got to the hospital and they hooked me up to some monitors... baby's heart rate was perfect (she's getting more and more active and was doing somersaults in there last night), the contractions weren't showing up as anything more then an "irritable uterus," and my blood pressure was higher then usual. Towards the end of my pregnancies I tend to swell up quite a bit but have never had gestational diabetes or pre-e. The nurse last night seemed to be pretty concerned with my bp, and had me drink some water and lay on my left side for a while until it went back down to normal. Then I got sent home with a gigantic jug that I have to pee in for the next 24 hours so I can take it to my dr Monday morning for some more tests. Yay.

I also found out last night that I am still just a fingertip dilated (like I was at my 30 week check up) so these contractions aren't even doing anything. I can only imagine what they'll feel like when I go into labor. Basically the nurse said I just need to go home and relax more, and drink LOTS more water.

So I'm going to start doing this:
(found this on Pinterest)

Today I plan on going to Target to make my baby registry (exciting!!!) and look for nursing bras. Then I'm meeting my husband for lunch :) It's going to be a good day!

Time To Vent

Forgive me, but I just want to take a minute to complain. Thanks.

I am so tired of feeling like a whale. I hate having to roll to get out of the bed instead of just sitting up and hoping out like I used to. I cannot stand getting up to pee every hour in the middle of the night, or the way it feels like I have a UTI if I try to hold it in to get more sleep. Getting myself ready for the day has become a chore and while I very much love looking good for my husband, I just feel like its such a chore these days. Not to mention gaining 20 pounds and having a super swollen face makes it hard to feel like I "look good" anyway. Chasing after my very energetic 2 year old all day almost feels like a 3 hour workout at the gym. Constantly being out of breath and having to sit for a second to catch my breath is quite annoying. My house is a mess because I have enough energy to vacuum or clean the dirty dishes in the sink and then I'm done for and need a major nap or resting period. I feel so useless lately.

Ugh. Is this pregnancy ever going to end?

He's got that right!

I woke up Monday morning and was getting the kids ready for the day. Trying to get Gav off to school on time, while getting myself ready for my 30 week check up with the Dr. I had a nice little conversation with Gavin that went like this....

G: "So, mommy, what are you doing today?"
Me: "Well I have to go to the doctor after I take you to school."
G: "Why? To check on baby Ryleigh?"
Me: "Yep, to make sure everything's okay."
G: "Well I hope she's like me... normal. Cause Kenna is crazy."

LOL... Smart kid.

Sweetest Husband EVER!

Ever since I first found out I was pregnant, my husband has been on his toes waiting for me to have some kind of craving in the middle of the night so he can go out and get it for me. He just loves making me happy, I suppose; or maybe he just loves hearing me brag about how awesome he is! To be honest, I think it's a little bit of both ;)

Anyway, I hardly ever have any cravings, and when I do, it's usually something we already have at home and I just have to walk to the kitchen to get it. Well last night around 3am I got up for my routine pee run, then J got up for his. Once we were both back in bed, we couldn't go to sleep. It's like we were wide awake and ready for conversation... so we laid there and had pillow talk for an hour or so. As I was dosing off, I remember saying "I'm hungry." J didn't respond so I figured he was already asleep. Then, half asleep I muffled "Some french toast with strawberries sounds so delicious right now." Pretty sure I was completely out after that.

I was woken up 4 hours later to the delicious smell of homemade french toast and scrambled eggs. Hubby rubbed my shoulder and said "Baby, wake up..." I looked over to find this next to me in bed....

A full plate of french toast, dusted in powdered suger with fresh strawberries and a side of scrambled eggs. Breakfast is served! He is so good to me :)

Sick!!!

***Sorry for the mess!!! I'm trying to get this blog in order and cute again but I'm so indecisive and don't have the patience at the moment to keep messing with it.***

I've been sick with a horrific stomach bug I got from my darling daughter. I kept waking up the night before last feeling extremely nauseous but never threw up. Then yesterday morning as soon as I got Gavin off to school, I came home to lay down and relax and it hit me out of nowhere. I ran to the bathroom and threw up what felt like all my insides. You'd think I'd feel better after that but no.. the sick feeling lasted all day. I literally laid around the entire day while Kenna watched Dora and played with her baby dolls.

When Joe got home from work around 4:30 I was feeling a little bit better but still had a bad headache and was very lethargic. I noticed I was getting up to pee many many times but once I would get to the bathroom, I didn't even need to pee. I started thinking maybe it was a UTI and called my Dr to get a prescription called in. Then I was laying on the couch and realized I was having contractions. They were very uncomfortable but not painful. They lasted about 2.5 hours and I tried timing them but they were very irregular. I took a warm bath, put a heating pad on my back, drank lots of fluids and finally went to sleep.

I woke up this morning feeling 100% better. No nausea, headaches, or feeling like I have to pee every 5 seconds. Turns out I don't have a UTI, it was just the contractions that were making me feel like I had to pee. With all the BH contractions I've been having with this pregnancy, I'm pretty convinced I'm not going to make it until June. Maybe we'll have a May baby this time.

Also! We've decided on babygirl's full name...

Ryleigh Jo Rog

After her daddy, of course :)

Good News Galore

Yes, that's right, IT'S A GIRL! We are so excited to be welcoming a new little girl to our family. Kenna was with us for the sonogram and I think she still doesn't quite get it all the way. We told her that the new baby is a girl and she responded with "No, I'm a girl!" lol It was pretty cute. Gav was at school when we went to the doctor but when I picked him up, I said.. "So do you want to know if you're going to have a brother or a sister?" He said.. Yess!! I said "Well, you're going to have another SISTER!!!!" He put his hand on his forehead and said... Ohhh man. lol It was so funny. He is already a wonderful big brother to Kenna, and I know he will love and adore his new little sister just as much.

Everything looked good at the sono, she was measuring 19w5d so pretty much right on track. She has no signs of a cleft lip... Phew! That was weighing on my mind the night before, so it was a relief to hear everything looked good! We go back in month for another check up.

Some more good news... We set a wedding date! J and I got engaged in August, and were planning for a Sept 2012 wedding before we found out we were pregnant. Then we had to decide if we wanted to wait a few years and have the wedding we were originally planning for, or if we wanted to get married soon, before the baby makes her arrival. It was a pretty easy decision, we want to be married when our little girl is born. So our date is set for February 26, 2012... It's going to be a very small event with just our close families, in his parents little church, and a dinner with our guests afterwards. I am SO excited for this. I cannot wait to marry this man, and spend the rest of my life with him. I literally could not imagine my life with anyone else, he IS the one for me. I am so happy I found him :)

Life is great! And I am so thankful to God for all that I have.

2 Days!

Until our next dr's appointment!!! Where we will find out the gender of the baby AND if the baby has a cleft lip... I'm so excited! Been feeling good lately, my belly is definitely growing! I feel baby movement every day now, usually at night when J and I are sitting on the couch watching tv. J still cant feel the little kicks yet, but I can tell they are getting stronger so he should be feeling them soon.

The top names on our lists at the moment are:

Girl - Ryleigh Elizabeth

And as far as boy names, we cant decide... Jaxon, Jakob, Hayden... there are a few. Nothing is set in stone yet, not even the girls name... It could still change! I will update more Monday after our dr visit!

T minus 12 days!

That's when we go back to the doctor for our anatomy scan and TO FIND OUT THE SEX! I'm super excited. Although I had my mind made up that I wanted to wait until the birth to find out the gender, I gave in to J's wishes. This is the first pregnancy experience for him and he really wants to know what we're having as soon as possible. He says its so we can plan more and buy gender appropriate clothing, but I think he just can't wait to find out if he's going to have a son or a daughter. Either way, I am stoked! In all honesty, I probably would not have been able to wait the whole 9 months without knowing anyway.

I'm still feeling movement from the baby (very exciting). And my belly is definitely growing. I will have to take a picture soon and post here. I am 18w2d today. G is very excited to find out if he will be having another little sister or a little brother. He of course wants a brother... (and I secretly am hoping for a boy also!)

Well it is time for me to go. I have a new recipe I will be posting tomorrow so keep an eye out :)

17 Weeks!

It must be the magic number! I have been feeling the baby move A LOT tonight! Well, more then usual anyway. The Friday night before Christmas Eve, I was sitting in church with my grma and I really think that was the first time I felt the baby move. I felt the same little bubbles a few times. Then they stopped. I did not feel anything for a few days after that and I have felt some little bubbles off and on since then (not sure if it was baby though). Until tonight! I can distinctly feel the baby moving. I know it is not gas bubbles. Very exciting! I also feel like my belly has grown dramatically since yesterday, but that could just be bloat :/

So our Christmas was great! We spent a lot of time with our wonderful families and the kiddos enjoyed every bit of it! I do have to say though, that I am relieved the holidays are over, the house is back to normal, G is back in school and we're back to our normal routine. It feels good, to not have all the chaos :)

Hope you all enjoyed your holidays as well!

Yikes.

Okay so am I a completely horrible blogger for abandoning my blog for 2.5 weeks? Well in my defense, my laptop crashed and I had no way to blog. Unless I used J's computer which is freakishly slow and annoying so I refrained. Until now. I am having blogging withdrawals and HAVE to tell y'all what I'm making for dinner tonight!

But of course, pregnancy updates first! So after our ER scare, we had a follow up the next Monday and there was no sign of the SCH. Baby was doing good and I haven't bled again since that scary night. Thank God! I'm still not showing, and its making me crazy! This is my third baby! Why am I still not showing? Although, every now and then after I eat, my belly does have a very noticeable pooch. I have taken pictures of this in hopes that it is my baby bump, only to wake up the next morning to... No baby bump. It's becoming routine these days. I have also still not felt any movement from the baby. He/she does like to ball up into what feels like a big knot in my belly. J and I love feeling this at night and in the mornings (that's when it usually happens). I am 15.2 weeks today.

My two babies are doing well. They're stoked for Christmas this year. This is the first Christmas since their dad and I split up so it will be very different for all of us but it will still be a great Christmas for us all. G is loving his Christmas break from school... sleeping in, staying up late, watching tv whenever he wants, and arguing with his sister most of the time. And K is enjoying every second of having bubby home so she can pester him whenever she wants.

So now that you've been updated on everyone, I promise to update regularly from this point forward :)

Trip to the ER

After going pee last night, I noticed I was bleeding bright red blood. It wasn't a lot, but it was more then just spotting. I completely freaked out the second I noticed it. I have had two completely normal and healthy pregnancies, with not even a drop of spotting at all, so this was quite a shock. I tried to call the dr but needed to leave a message and wait for them to call me back so I just hung up and rushed to the ER. Once arriving there, we were stuck in the waiting room for a good 20 minutes. I got up to go to the bathroom a couple of times during that wait and noticed I was now passing blood clots and gushing blood every time I sat on the toilet. My heart sank, I just knew we were losing the baby. I have never experienced anything like this before and did not know what to think. We finally got into a room and saw the dr. He did a pelvic exam and said he was "getting rid of these clots" which made me worry more, to know there were more blood clots in there. After blood work, a urine sample, and a completely uncomfortable pelvic exam I went for the sono. The tech did not say anything right away, just kept clicking buttons and measuring. I said "is there a heartbeat?" She replied "Yes, baby is moving all around in there" and showed me the screen. I could see the little arms and legs fluttering like crazy. It made me so happy to hear the baby was alive and well. I went back to the ER room and shared the good news with Joe. Then couldn't help but wonder "if the baby is fine, why am I bleeding and clotting? Something is not right." After another hour of waiting, the dr came back in with my diagnosis: Subchorionic Hemorrhage. It is basically a blood clot in my uterus, right outside the baby's sac. The dr at the ER was not very informative. Basically he just told me to follow up with my OB on Monday and see what she says. So that is what I'm doing. Impatiently waiting for Monday morning and trying not to worry too much (although that is a great challenge). At this point, we are just praying for a healthy baby...

I'm in love

With my new OB/GYN. She is awesome! So friendly, and nice and very informative. I'm super happy with her :)

We had our first sonogram today! Saw our little peanut bouncing around in my belly. He/she at one point during the sono literally bounced off the wall of my uterus. It was funny. I didn't feel a thing, guess its still too early for that. Baby is measuring 12 weeks exactly. Which puts my estimated due date at June 11, 2012. Kenna might be sharing her birthday with her little brother/sister. Kenna was due June 13 but I was induced a week early and her birthday is the 9th. Yay! I'm so excited!!

Other then that, no new exciting news to report. I'm feeling extremely exhausted today and have had a headache off and on all day. Also, we found Bruno a new home. It just wasn't working out for us (or him, for that matter). He really needed a yard to run around in and someone with patience to train him. Which we all know I have none of right now. My patience is non-existent, my energy is gone, my exhaustion has sky rocketed and I'm an emotional mess. So lets face it, I'm not in the best state to be training a puppy and chasing after my two rambunctious kids all day. He will be better off in his new home with a nice, big yard to run around in. And everyone in this household will be better off with me getting more rest and sleep :)

He's amazing.

Since I've been pregnant, I feel like I can't get enough rest/sleep. All I want to do is lay in bed and watch movies or sleep the day away. Obviously with two kiddos and a house to run, that is not at all possible. Joe is the type of person that constantly has to be doing something productive. If he's not working, he has to be cleaning or something. He occasionally sits down to play a game on his PS3 or watch a movie but it is rare.

Let me just add in here that the kids have been at their dad's since Friday night and will not be home until Wednesday morning. So it has been super duper quiet around ere lately and I've been taking advantage of it. Joe and I had a little date night last night; we went to see Breaking Dawn when I got off work (which was awesome BTW) then came home and we were in bed by 8:30pm. Right before I dosed off, I remember telling him I was craving donuts and how I wish there was a donut delivery place that was open 24/7 so I could get my fix. That's the last I remember.

So this morning, he got up at 7am to go to work. Got dressed, kissed me goodbye (while I was still laying in bed) and headed out the door. About 30 minutes later, I hear Bruno (the dog) running around the apartment like a psychopath and was about to get on to him when I saw Joe walk into the bedroom with a huge bouquet of flowers and a bag. I was shocked, he had pretended he was going to work but really went out and bought me flowers and brought me home some delicious donuts :) Then proceeded to tell me he was playing hooky today so we could lay in bed and watch movies. And that's exactly what we did. Scanned through Netflix and watched movies alll day. It was awesome and so relaxing!

He is too good to me :)

Heard the heartbeat!

Well I had my first OB appointment on Monday. I'm not gonna lie, it was kind of disappointing for me. I was really hoping to at least hear the baby's heartbeat at that appointment. I'm back to not feeling nauseous at all or having any vomiting (which is obviously good, for me) but it worries me that maybe I lost the baby or something. I guess reading all those sad stories in my babycenter.com June group about women losing their baby and leaving the group have gotten to my head.

Anyway I ordered a fetal doppler online and got it in the mail about two weeks ago. Joe and I sat down a few times and tried to find a heartbeat. Each time I would end up disappointed because we had no luck hearing any heartbeat but mine. So at the DR on Monday, I mentioned to her that I had not been able to find a heartbeat and she looked at me like I was crazy and said "Well you cant hear the heartbeat until around 12 weeks anyway and even then its hard to find." EVEN THOUGH by their calculations (using my LMP) they were saying I was 12 weeks and 3 days. I told her that was completely off, there was no way I was that far along and I would need an ultrasound to determine my EDD. I did not get to meet the DR at that visit. Apparently she is out of the office on Monday's (another disappointment, considering Joe's only days off work are Sunday and Monday). Then the nurse told me that there are 15 doctors in that practice so someone would always be able to see me. Disappointment #3. I don't want a practice with 15 doctors and have the chance of one of the 14 that I do not know deliver my baby.

Leaving the office, I scheduled my next appointment for Nov 30 to have an ultrasound and meet with my DR. Although, I have already made an appointment with a new OB (in a different practice) I want to try and see if I am more comfortable. This practice only has 4 doctors so that in itself is already more comforting. My appointment with this Dr is tomorrow morning. Crossing my fingers it turns out well :)

ANYWAY, back to my original reason for this post.... I got my doppler out again today (determined to hear a heartbeat). It took about 10 minutes to find it but I finally did! It's lower in my abdomen then I expected it to be and it really takes a lot of concentration to find the right spot. It was a strong 167 bpm! Does that mean its a girl? We will see....

I can NOT wait until Joe gets home from work so we can listen to our baby's heartbeat together :) I'm so excited!

The bump has started

See that miss shapen, kind-of-looks-like-a-cone-head belly? That's the start of my baby bump :)

Jinxed Myself

I guess I jinxed myself with that last post about how lucky I am this time around not having any morning sickness. Monday wasn't a great day for me, I woke up feeling nauseous. Ate some crackers and ginger ale, hoping it would pass. It never did. I struggled to make it with Kenna until Joe got home from working around noon that day. As soon as he came in, it was nap time for Kenna, so I put her down and laid down myself. I woke up a few hours later and threw up. The first time I have thrown up during this pregnancy. I felt a little better and was hopeful I would still be able to take the kids trick or treating that night. Joe picked Gav up from school and brought him home, we had some sandwiches then put on the kids costumes and headed out for trick or treating. I felt pretty normal during all of this. Our trick or treating lasted a good 2 hours, and when we got home I immediately started feeling ill again. After the kids were in bed, I went to bed too (at about 8:30pm). I woke up at midnight when Joe came to bed, feeling even more nauseous and running a super high fever. I stumbled my way into the bathroom and threw up. Feeling extremely dehydrated, I drank a bunch of water and went back to bed. From that point on, I was up every hour and half, throwing up and drinking more water, praying for 7am to roll around so I could go to the hospital and get some relief. The sun finally came up, we got Gav to school, Joe called into work, and we went to the ER. I literally felt like I had the flu. I was so nauseous and exhausted and my whole body was aching. They gave me an IV which immediately made me feel more alive, some pain medicine for my headache, some nausea meds, and some antibiotics. Turns out I had a UTI and some kind of virus.

Yesterday was a little better, but today I feel 100x better! Thank God :)

Still Pregnant?

That's what I was asking my self last night. I have not had any morning sickness. My boobs are a little sore but just barely. No food cravings. My exhaustion has gotten better over the last few days. I've realized that if I take my prenatal vitamin in the morning with breakfast, it helps keep my energy levels up throughout the day. My mood swings have also tapered away quite a bit. So last night I found my self wondering if I was even still pregnant. I had one pregnancy test left, and decided to take it. The little EPT plus sign showed up right away and the test line was the darkest I've ever seen so.. Yep, I'm still makin a little baby in there! Guess I'm just extremely lucky this time around :)

My allergies have been so out of whack lately! I get extremely congested during the night and am coughing up gobs of snot every morning. The drainage from the allergies does make my stomach upset in the mornings but it passes quickly.

I have a feeling this baby is a girl... But I had feelings with my first two and was wrong with both of them so we'll see!
